Note
It is important that the looped tubing is covered by the dome to prevent accidental snagging of the loop as well as the catheter hub. Be sure to tape the loop of tubing so that it will fit the inner curve of the dome. This also prevents bending and occlusion. Covering both the hub and looped tubing virtually eliminates movement of the catheter hub at the insertion site.

How To Apply The I.V. House UltraDressing
1. Following IV catheter insertion, secure the catheter insertion site to skin with a transparent dressing, tape or an adhesive anchor according to your institution’s policies. Be sure to tape the loop of tubing so that it will fit inside the inner curve of the dome. Position I.V. House UltraDressing over looped tubing and catheter hub (round edge of dome toward fingertips).

2. Right-hand: Slip thumb through thumbhole closest to dome. Left-hand: Slip thumb through thumbhole farthest from dome.

3. Wrap fabric comfortably around palm, securing with Velcro closure tab under the label.

4. Release the Velcro tab to inspect the IV site according to nursing practice guidelines.

5. Change the I.V. House UltraDressing each time a new IV is inserted or when soiled.
