Note It is important that the
looped tubing is covered by the dome to prevent accidental
snagging of the loop as well as the catheter hub. Be
sure to tape the loop of tubing so that it will fit
the inner curve of the dome. This also prevents bending
and occlusion. Covering both the hub and looped tubing
virtually eliminates movement of the catheter hub at
the insertion site.

How To Apply The I.V. House UltraDressing
on the arm (Model 730Arm)
1. Following IV catheter insertion, secure
the catheter insertion site to skin with a transparent dressing,
tape or an adhesive anchor according to your institution’s
policies. Be sure to tape the loop of tubing so that it will
fit inside the inner curve of the dome. Position I.V. House
UltraDressing over looped tubing and catheter hub (round edge
of dome toward fingertips).
2. Wrap fabric comfortably around arm, overlapping
just enough to close the Velcro while leaving enough room
for two fingers to slip under the fabric.
3. Cut off any extra fabric at the appropriate
notch.
4. Place plastic I.V. House dome over the
catheter insertion site
5. Remove blue release paper from the Medipore
tape strip. This gentle tape prevents slippage of the device
toward the patient’s wrist.
6. Re-wrap fabric, applying the tape to
the patient’s skin as you wrap
7. Secure I.V. House UltraDressing in place
with Velcro closure tab under the label.
8. To inspect the IV site according to nursing
practice guidelines, release the Velcro tab and lift the dome.
9. Change I.V. House UltraDressing each
time a new IV is inserted or when soiled.
