UltraDressing® 730 Small, Medium, and Large Hand Directions

Each dispenser box includes twenty-four hand measurement charts. Simply place the patient’s hand on the left margin of the chart to determine if they need a small, medium or large size I.V. House UltraDressing.

The measurement is taken from the proximal interphalangeal joint of the 1st and 4th finger (knuckle to knuckle) and will assign the correct size needed.

Right-hand: Slip thumb through thumbhole closest to dome.
Left-hand: Slip thumb through thumbhole farthest from dome.

  1. Following IV insertion, tape the loop of tubing small enough so that it will fit inside the inner curve of the dome. Position I.V. House UltraDressing over the looped tubing and catheter hub (round edge of dome toward fingertips). Wrap fabric snugly around palm, securing with Velcro®.
  2. The I.V. House UltraDressing works for either hand, but it’s the placement of the thumb that determines a left or right-hand fit.
  3. Release Velcro® tab to inspect IV site according to nursing practice guidelines.
  4. Change I.V. House UltraDressing each time a new IV is inserted.
