Designed for Touch, Look, and Compare IV Assessment
The TLC® Splint is an ergonomically designed IV armboard. I.V. House worked with leading ergonomic design experts and pediatric nurses to create the TLC Splint, which holds the joint in the ideal orientation for intravenous therapy to improve patient safety and increase nurse efficiency. The TLC Splint has received multiple medical technology awards, including the Silver Edison Award for design excellence in 2019.
I.V. House promotes the Touch, Look, and Compare assessment method for IV therapy. The TLC Splint was thoughtfully and intentionally designed to reinforce each step of the process. See-through openings in the splint allow the nurse to palpate and assess the dorsal side of the extremity and easily compare the surrounding area with the opposite limb.
