TLC Elbow Splint Wins Award for Excellence in Design & Innovation

I.V. House, Inc. and Metaphase Design Group win a GOOD DESIGN® Award for the second time with the TLC® Elbow Splint.

The Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design and Metropolitan Arts Press Ltd. awarded I.V. House, Inc. and design partners at Metaphase Design Group a 2019 GOOD DESIGN Award for the TLC Elbow Splint. This is the second time I.V. House and Metaphase have won this award. The first win came for the TLC Wrist Splint in 2015.

The TLC Elbow Splint incorporates Human Factors and Ergonomics into the design of the device in order to help improve patient safety and increase nurse efficiency. The TLC Elbow Splint is designed to fit the anatomy of the patient. Soft foam padding provides added comfort. Straps attached with Velcro® closures hold the device in place, stabilizing the extremity to prevent movement of the IV catheter in the vein to help prevent common complications. See-through openings allow nurses to visually and manually assess the IV insertion site to check for changes in temperature, color, and swelling.

I.V. House and Metaphase acknowledges and thanks nurses for their ongoing feedback during the research and development phase of this product. Please contact us for samples or to set up a trial at your hospital.
